Starting a thread on this because it keeps coming up in ones and twos: Protein first, everything else after

Practical question, and possibly a silly one.

Every piece of advice I read appears to have been written for somebody with a completely different week from mine, so I am asking people whose weeks look like this.

I have a plan for the ordinary weeks and no plan at all for the unusual ones, and the unusual ones are where everything has gone wrong.

The thing I have not been able to find anywhere is how people manage this when the week has no fixed shape at all.

Thank you. This circle has solved four practical problems for me already and I am hoping for a fifth.

What I found is that the evening is where mine falls short, because by then my appetite has gone and I am tired.

Rohan — yes, and the bit that took me longest to accept was the next part.

I found the strength work protective in a way I did not appreciate until a difficult stretch where everything else fell away.

Reading Rohan, I recognised more of that than I expected to.

What helped was measuring for two weeks and then never again. I found out where I actually was and then stopped thinking about it.

I am going to redirect us back to the original poster, who has not had a chance to answer any of the questions put to them.

Building on what Runa wrote rather than answering the original question.

My protein went up and my energy followed within about three weeks, which was a much faster effect than I expected.

What I would say is that this is the least interesting and most reliable part of the whole business. It works and it is dull.

The thing that convinced me was noticing that carrying the shopping had got easier, which is a much better measure than anything I could count.

Something I got wrong was doing too much at the start. Two sessions I could keep beat four sessions I abandoned in March.

Saying it out loud helps other people say it too. Thank you.

What surprised me was how much easier the strength side got once the protein side was solved. They were not independent problems.

Gently: nobody needs to justify the shape of their week here, including the members whose weeks have no shape at all.

I would have written the same thing a year ago, word for word.
