Something I have been sitting with: My iron and B12 turned out to be low Not looking for advice so much as other people's experience.

Before anyone says it: yes, I have an appointment booked. I would still like to hear from people who have had this.

The physical part is manageable. What is wearing me down is the constant low-level monitoring of it, and I would like to stop doing that.

I have read the guide on this and it covered the ordinary version. Mine is not quite the ordinary version and that is why I am asking.

I will come back and say what my appointment produced, because I hate reading threads that stop before the answer.

The vivid dreams caught me completely off guard. Nobody had mentioned them and about a third of this circle seems to have had them.

To the opening post rather than to the thread: Bruno, this is my version of it.

What worked was accepting that I had less in the day than I used to, temporarily, and taking things out of the week rather than trying to do them tired.

Bruno, I have been where you are and I would rather say so than stay quiet.

Something practical: I stopped scheduling anything on the evening of the day I do it. That one change took the pressure out of the whole week.

Two things. First, nobody here can tell you what is happening in your body. Second, the conversation you want to have is with a clinician, and we can help you write down what to say.

Mine correlated with hydration far more than I would have believed. Very dull, very consistent across three months of notes.

I have read this twice now. Thank you for writing it.

Naps helped me and made things worse for somebody I talk to weekly, so I am reluctant to recommend them. Worth trying and worth abandoning.

Kez, thank you for that. It gives me somewhere to start from.

What made the difference for me was a fixed wake time rather than a fixed bedtime. Somebody here suggested it and it took about ten days to work.

What I noticed was that the tiredness came in a wave in the mid-afternoon and if I could get through forty minutes it passed. Trying to push through it never worked.

Somebody here said to treat energy as a budget rather than a personal quality, and that single reframing changed how I planned my weeks.

What Nils described happened to me too, in a slightly different order.

I was tired for about eight weeks and then I was not. I have no explanation. I offer it as data because the eight-week accounts are what I needed at week three.

Mine improved when I fixed something completely unrelated, which had been quietly wrecking my nights for a year. Worth casting a wide net.

Light in the morning was the thing that helped most and cost nothing. Twenty minutes outside before nine, most days, and my nights changed within a fortnight.

Coming back to what Huw wrote further up, because it is the bit I keep thinking about.

The bit I underestimated was how much the fatigue affected my mood, and how much I then attributed to my mood that was actually just being tired.

Thank you for the update. Threads that stop are the worst kind.

My prescriber asked about my sleep before anything else when I raised fatigue, which I thought was a diversion and turned out to be the whole answer.

Thank you all. Somebody arriving embarrassed and being answered without a trace of it is the whole reason this circle is worded the way it is, and it takes everybody to keep it that way.

I found the tiredness hardest to explain to other people. It is not the tiredness of a bad night, it is a different quality, and there is no good vocabulary for it.
