What FLOW means for my kidneys, in plain words — putting it in its own thread so it does not get lost in the check-in.

I have had this diagnosis for a long time and none of the general advice quite fits me.

What I cannot work out is which of the two stories a particular change belongs to, and I suspect nobody can tell me from the outside.

What has changed is small and I only noticed because I keep records, and I cannot decide whether small and consistent is worth raising.

Any experience from somebody with the same combination would be worth a great deal to me.

The thing that surprised me was how much sleep affected my morning numbers. Nothing to do with food at all and it took me a year to notice.

I am pleased with this thread. Somebody arriving with fifteen years of being disbelieved and being believed here is most of what this circle is for, and it only happens because people read properly before they answer.

Something practical: I wrote down the three questions before going in, every time, and I have never once remembered them otherwise.

Reading Viv, I recognised more of that than I expected to.

My experience is that steady beats dramatic. The month I did everything perfectly is not visible in my results and the two boring years are.

Oskar — yes, and the bit that took me longest to accept was the next part.

What I got wrong was chasing individual readings. The trend over three months was the only thing that ever meant anything.

I found that the nurse-led review was more thorough and more useful than the GP appointment, and it is the one I now prepare for.

The hypo question is a real one if you are on certain other things, and it needed a specific conversation rather than a general reassurance.

Recognition rather than advice, if that is any use at all.

What Gilly described happened to me too, in a slightly different order.

Mine has been uneventful. That is a genuinely good outcome and it makes for a boring post, which is why the boring posts matter.

I asked what would make them want to change the plan, and having that answer meant I knew what I was watching for rather than watching everything.

I have found this circle useful mostly for the appointment craft rather than the clinical side. How to ask, what to bring, what to write down.

The vocabulary took me years to learn and nobody offered to teach it. Asking what a word meant, out loud, in an appointment, was the best habit I picked up.

Building on what Bunny wrote rather than answering the original question.

My results improved and then a stressful winter undid some of it, and my nurse was completely unbothered and said that is what the long game means.

Stepping in to redirect towards the original question, which was narrower than the discussion has become and has not been answered yet.

I would say that if you have been managing this a long time, your own knowledge is genuinely worth something in the appointment. Mine was welcomed once I offered it.
