MKM told me before I paid rather than substituting. A thread about that

One line in my MKM order was out of stock and I was told before I paid, rather than being sent something adjacent and finding out on the doorstep.

I want to make a small argument for why that single decision matters more than it looks. A silent substitution destroys the only check you have: the lot on the vial against the lot on the paper stops meaning anything if the contents are not what you ordered in the first place.

Five orders since. Storage conditions volunteered without my asking, both times I noticed.

Agreed, and it is the sort of policy you only find out about when it is tested, which is why reports like this are worth having.

Storage conditions volunteered rather than requested is rare enough that I noted it too.

Renata — yes, and the bit that took me longest to accept was the next part: a policy is about how a company behaves, not about what is in your vial.

Reading and learning. I had not thought about substitution as a documentation problem before this thread.

I am adding this to the circle's resources. The argument in the opening post is the clearest version of it we have. As always: nothing here is medical advice, and research-use-only material is not approved for use in a person.
