Perimenopause at 44 and starting treatment the same month Writing it down partly to work out what I actually think.

Bringing this here rather than to the general circle because the specifics change the answer.

What has changed is small and I only noticed because I keep records, and I cannot decide whether small and consistent is worth raising.

Nobody in my life has this combination and I have never met anybody who does, which is most of why I am writing it here.

I would like to compare notes rather than be advised, because the advice I have had has all been written for a simpler version of my situation.

I will report back after my specialist appointment, because there is not much written about this and I would like to add to it.

Mine has settled into something workable over about eighteen months, with a lot of small adjustments and one significant conversation.

The mood side was the hardest for me to talk about because I did not want it attributed to the obvious thing before anybody looked properly.

I had a period of very poor sleep that I assumed was one thing, and it was the other, and correcting it made everything else more manageable.

Whoever comes back after the appointment and says what happened closes a loop that would otherwise leave the next reader guessing. It is a small thing to write and it is not a small thing to find.

My bone health conversation happened because I asked for it, not because it was offered, and I would encourage anybody here to ask.

Picking up Wells’s point rather than starting a new one.

Something I did not expect was how much the strength side mattered at this stage. Two sessions a week has done more for how I feel than anything else.

This is why I read the boring weeks. Thank you for the boring weeks.

I would say push for a proper conversation about the interaction rather than two separate consultations that never meet.

My sleep, my mood and my appetite all changed in the same six months and I attributed all of it to the wrong cause for a while.

Marking that I am here, in case that counts for anything today.

Fenella — yes, and the bit that took me longest to accept was the next part.

What I would flag is that the timing of everything matters more than it used to. My whole week is arranged differently now and it works.

Somebody in this circle said the untangling is the work, and that is exactly right. The individual pieces were manageable; separating them was not.

I am pleased with this thread. Somebody arriving with fifteen years of being disbelieved and being believed here is most of what this circle is for, and it only happens because people read properly before they answer.

I found the joint aches confusing because they belonged plausibly to two stories, and my GP investigated properly rather than assuming.
