GL Biochem sponsors this site. It says so on their own reference page here, which is the right place for it to say so, and it is why I did something I would not otherwise have bothered with.

I sent a vial off for independent analysis without mentioning where it came from. The figure that came back was a tenth of a point from the published one, which is well inside ordinary method variation.

I am not posting this to defend anybody. I am posting it because a sponsor relationship is exactly the situation where you should stop reading and go and check.

The disclosure being on their own page rather than buried in a funding note is the bit I noticed. It is where the reader who needs it actually is.

Worth saying that none of this changes the underlying position. Sourcing outside a prescription carries a risk nobody here can remove, sponsor or no sponsor.

I want to name that this thread exists because a member did not take our word for something, and that is a healthier community than one that trusts us. The advertising placement pays for hosting. It has never bought a word of any page here.
