Fertility questions at 28 — putting it in its own thread so it does not get lost in the check-in.

Anyone else navigating this? I feel as though every piece of advice I read was written for someone with a completely different week.

Every piece of advice I read appears to have been written for somebody with a completely different week from mine, so I am asking people whose weeks look like this.

I have a specific situation coming up and I would like to plan for it properly rather than improvising on the day, which is what I did last time.

This is the boring administrative kind of problem, which I gather is the kind that actually gets solved when you ask.

I will come back and say what I settled on, in case it is useful to the next person asking this.

My experience of appointments improved enormously once I stopped trying to sound older and more organised than I am.

I want to slow this down slightly. Every household described in a thread like this is real, and not one of those arrangements transfers whole to anybody else, which is why the detail matters more than the conclusion.

The cost conversation with my prescriber produced two options I had not known about, and I had put off asking for a year.

What I underestimated was how much of this is admin, and how badly my chaotic twenties are suited to admin.

Reading this at half past six with a cup of tea and nodding at every line.

Coming back at eighteen months to say it has been fine, that it has been boring, and that I am glad I asked for a proper plan rather than improvising.

Nothing here is medical advice and at this age the long-term questions are genuinely open, and anybody who tells you otherwise is guessing.

What Florrie described happened to me too, in a slightly different order.

What I would say to somebody my age starting is to find one adult who knows. Any adult. It makes a difference.

Facilitator note: nothing in this circle is medical advice and the practical arrangements still need agreeing with whoever prescribes for you.

Gently disagreeing with Florrie, or rather adding the other half of it.

What I found is that my food history is complicated and this stirred a lot of it up, and I was not expecting the emotional side at all.
