Something I have been sitting with: How I budget for this on a graduate salary Not looking for advice so much as other people's experience.

Practical question, and possibly a silly one.

I would like to know what other people say when asked, because my current answer is too long and invites more questions.

I nearly did not ask because it sounds trivial written down, and it has been the most persistent difficulty of the last six months.

My household has adjusted to about half of this and the other half is causing small daily friction that I have not known how to raise.

Thank you. This circle has solved four practical problems for me already and I am hoping for a fifth.

The long horizon is the part I think about most. Nobody can tell me what twenty years of this looks like because nobody knows yet.

Tallis, thank you for that. It gives me somewhere to start from.

Coming back at eighteen months to say it has been fine, that it has been boring, and that I am glad I asked for a proper plan rather than improvising.

Facilitator note: everything discussed here is a matter for you and your household. We are here for the ideas, not the decisions.

I asked my prescriber directly about the long term and she was honest that the data does not go that far, and I would rather have that than reassurance.

The bit in the middle is the bit I needed to read.

What I found is that my food history is complicated and this stirred a lot of it up, and I was not expecting the emotional side at all.

I would say get somebody clinical who takes you seriously. My first prescriber did not and changing was the best decision I made.

Coming back to what Gabe wrote further up, because it is the bit I keep thinking about.

Something practical: I set my life up so that this is cheap and simple, because my situation changes every few months.

Building on what Nyala wrote rather than answering the original question.

What surprised me was how much of the material is aimed at people twice my age, and how little of it fits my actual week.

My friends do not know and I have found that isolating, and this is where I say the things I cannot say to them.

The comparison with people my age online was actively harmful for me and I stopped reading any of it about a year ago.

No wisdom, just: I am sorry. That sounds genuinely hard.

Florrie said something I want to sit with for a second.

I moved cities and had to rebuild every arrangement, which took three months, and I would plan for that if I moved again.

What I found is that being taken seriously at my age required me to be very organised in appointments, more than an older person would need to be.

Linnea has already said most of this and I want to add the one part that was different for me.

What I underestimated was how much of this is admin, and how badly my chaotic twenties are suited to admin.

The cost conversation with my prescriber produced two options I had not known about, and I had put off asking for a year.

Somebody in this circle said the horizon is long and the decision is revisable, and that combination is what makes it manageable for me.

What Tallis described happened to me too, in a slightly different order.

I would gently say that if your relationship with eating has a difficult history, that is worth telling whoever is prescribing.

I am going to redirect us back to the original poster, who has not had a chance to answer any of the questions put to them.

Nothing here is medical advice and at this age the long-term questions are genuinely open, and anybody who tells you otherwise is guessing.
