Social media made this so much worse for me

Social media made this so much worse for me Writing it down partly to work out what I actually think.

Anyone else navigating this? I feel as though every piece of advice I read was written for someone with a completely different week.

The thing I have not been able to find anywhere is how people manage this when the week has no fixed shape at all.

My household has adjusted to about half of this and the other half is causing small daily friction that I have not known how to raise.

Every piece of advice I read appears to have been written for somebody with a completely different week from mine, so I am asking people whose weeks look like this.

Thanks in advance. Practical detail welcome, however dull — the duller the better, honestly.

The pressure from every direction at this age is relentless, and this circle is the only place I have found that does not add to it.

Gently disagreeing with Linnea, or rather adding the other half of it.

What I found is that my food history is complicated and this stirred a lot of it up, and I was not expecting the emotional side at all.

If you come back later and say what you actually ended up doing, that is the post the next person reads. Threads that stop are the ones that leave somebody stranded.

I asked my prescriber directly about the long term and she was honest that the data does not go that far, and I would rather have that than reassurance.

Kiki has already said most of this and I want to add the one part that was different for me.

What surprised me was how much of the material is aimed at people twice my age, and how little of it fits my actual week.

My friends do not know and I have found that isolating, and this is where I say the things I cannot say to them.

The bit in the middle is the bit I needed to read.

Something practical: I set my life up so that this is cheap and simple, because my situation changes every few months.

Building on what Torin wrote rather than answering the original question.

My experience of appointments improved enormously once I stopped trying to sound older and more organised than I am.

Something practical: everything I need fits in a small bag because I have lived in four places since starting.

Adding a name to the list of people this helped.

I found the social side hardest. Everybody eating and drinking constantly and no interest in why I was not.

What helped was one friend who knows everything, which took me eight months to arrange and has been worth all of it.

Noticing that the thread has answered the question and then kept going, which is fine, and I want the answer not to get buried.

My prescriber and I have a plan that gets reviewed every six months, and having it be revisable rather than fixed suits my life.
