A question rather than an update: Seven medications and a pharmacist review that changed three of them

Anyone else navigating this? I feel as though every piece of advice I read was written for someone with a completely different week.

This is the boring administrative kind of problem, which I gather is the kind that actually gets solved when you ask.

I nearly did not ask because it sounds trivial written down, and it has been the most persistent difficulty of the last six months.

I have a plan for the ordinary weeks and no plan at all for the unusual ones, and the unusual ones are where everything has gone wrong.

The number in the title is the actual number: seven, not a round figure I reached for because it sounded about right.

Thank you. This circle has solved four practical problems for me already and I am hoping for a fifth.

My appetite change was welcome in some ways and worrying in others, and my GP watched it more closely because of my age, which was right.

Olly — yes, and the bit that took me longest to accept was the next part.

Something practical: everything is in one place with a written note of what it is for, so that anybody could pick it up and understand it.

Facilitator note: the guides cover the practical side of this reasonably well, and what this thread has that they do not is somebody's actual Tuesday.

What surprised me was how much I have enjoyed the strength work, having never done anything of the sort in my life.

Picking up Ottilie’s point rather than starting a new one.

My reviews are twice a year and I prepare properly for both, and they are the most productive appointments I have ever had.

The thing I would say to somebody at my stage is that going slowly is not being timid, it is being sensible about a body with a longer history.

I have read this twice now. Thank you for writing it.

What Lucas described happened to me too, in a slightly different order.

What helped most was a physiotherapist who gave me a specific programme rather than a general encouragement to be active.

I found the online material almost entirely aimed at people thirty years younger, which is why this circle matters to me.

What helped was one clinician who took a view of the whole of me rather than four people each managing one thing.

Coming back at two years to say it has been uneventful, that my mobility is better than it was, and that I am glad I asked rather than assuming I was too old.

Nothing useful, just that I have been exactly here.

Gently: nobody needs to justify the shape of their week here, including the members whose weeks have no shape at all.

Nothing here is medical advice, and at my stage the interactions with everything else genuinely need somebody qualified looking at the whole list.
